About Tap Into More
My
Story
Welcome! My name's Elise Cray.

I am a certified EFT Practitioner, with a background (Bachelor degree) in Psychology, and am the founder of Tap Into More.

I have always had a strong passion for mental health and a deep curiosity about the human mind and how we interact. As a child, while my friends wanted to be gymnasts, ballerinas, doctors, or other exciting professions, I wanted to be a counsellor. Although I had never even been part of a counselling session at that age, I knew I wanted to be part of providing that sort of deep emotional and psychological support to others when I grew up.

This interest led me to study Psychology at university. However, the allure of my other great passion in life, travel, pulled me away from pursuing more university study and off into the world. I lived in various European countries and travelled around the world many times, while working in both HR and Marketing roles to enable this.

Many other things in life happened too, as they do, and I found myself with a pretty heavy burden of both long-term stress and trauma. I leaned into my intellectual thirst for understanding and healing strategies, and tried a variety of approaches which each helped in different ways. However, what I found was that no matter how much I understood and validated my own feelings and experiences, the effects of stress, trauma, and a completely haywire nervous system were taking an increasingly heavy toll on my body.

One night, as I was laying in bed, trying desperately to get to sleep amidst trauma flashbacks and anxiety, I started intuitively and gently tapping on my forehead. I didn't know why I felt to do this, or how it was helping, but it absolutely did help. I got to sleep within minutes.
From then on, gently tapping on my forehead every night became a habit which helped me get to sleep. Then, after a few weeks, I randomly came across an article online about EFT. As I read more about this fascinating methodology and the studies backing its success, it all made so much sense and felt so aligned and right for me.

From there, I took a bit of a blind leap and began studying to become an EFT Practitioner, completed my studies and supervision, and in mid-2023, became a certified EFT Practitioner.

Tap Into More
I chose the name 'Tap Into More' because the more I did EFT with both myself and others, the more I began to recognise the limitless potential it has to help us achieve and create everything we want.
Each of us have deeply individual and often complex inner worlds, that require and desire different things.
The name 'Tap Into More' to me, represents the ability that we each have to tap into more of whatever it is we want, by tuning into our own levels of consciousness and creating it from within.
EFT tapping
Often when we talk about "healing", it comes with connotations of being broken and needing to restore what about us is broken...
But this is not how I see healing.
True healing, in my opinion, is the process of deeply reconnecting with who we are, and who we have been all along.
Things like trauma, chronic stress, heartbreak, loss, fear, etc. all cause fragments of us to be disconnected from ourselves. There is nothing wrong or inherently bad about this - it's a beautiful process that happens innately, allowing us to survive.
However, problems arise when we get stuck in this state of separation from ourselves, through overwhelming and difficult emotions that we can't seem to shift.
This is where EFT tapping comes in...
By gently tapping on the 14 EFT acupressure points with your own fingers, you stimulate the flow of energy through your body around crucial energy meridians. Then, with the addition of mentally focusing on and talking about specific emotions, memories, and/or beliefs, you allow the trapped energy of those things to move freely through and out of your body.

What that essentially does, is reduce the emotional charge of the feeling, memory, or belief that you are tapping through.
Emotions
Emotions are energy in motion. So when they become stuck (especially over a long period of time), it can lead to all sorts of emotional and physical issues. EFT tapping allows the energy of specific emotions to continue naturally moving through and out of you, as they are designed to do.
Memories
By tapping through a specific memory, you are again working to reduce the emotional charge around the memory. This doesn't mean you will no longer have the memory - it will still be there, but the aim is to reduce the strong emotions around it that keep you feeling stuck, like you are re-living it every time it enters your mind.
Beliefs
By tapping through limiting beliefs, you are not only reducing the emotional charge and strength of the belief in your brain, but are also rewiring a new belief through the process of neuroplasticity, and emphasising the truth of that new belief within yourself.
